General Duties & Responsibilities
- Packing finished bags of pretzel products into boxes and bulk products into totes visually checking for:
- Price codes (if applicable)
- Appearance, quality of product (color & type)
- Properly sealed packaging
- Proper box labeling
- Assemble boxes for packing
- Sweep and clean packing area, picking up waste
- Assist co-workers and other departments as needed
- Assist in cleaning baking equipment and baking area as needed
- Compliance with all food safety requirements and sanitation and quality programs
- Overtime as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED equivalent
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
Assistant Baker
1st Shift
Monday 8 AM to 4 PM

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Mix baker carries out all responsibilities of proper operation of all mixing equipment, monitoring weights, dough variability, monitoring activities in mix area and assuring product quality as set by Benzel’s standard product specifications.
- Specific knowledge and operation of mixing equipment (mixers, extruders, minor ingredient systems, flour systems, etc.).
- Documentation of pretzel weights every 15 minutes.
- Evaluate raw product weights and being able to adjust to established standards.
- Entering weight information into computer system, accurately tracking of all ingredients entering or leaving mix bake area on correct logs.
- Installing/removing extruder plates and set up and assist in changeovers.
- Exposure to manufacturing environmental conditions including noise, machinery, fumes, dust, odors, and heat.
- Fast paced environment.
- Assist in cleaning baking equipment and baking area as needed.
- Compliance with all food safety requirements and sanitation and quality programs.
- Overtime as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED equivalent.
- One-year prior experience in production line baking or food processing industry.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

Maintenance Machine Operator
1st Shift

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain all packing equipment.
- Install rolls of film on packing machines and replace rolls when existing rolls are going to run out (making sure to use all film on roll).
- Proper machine set up with correct codes, weights, bags, etc.
- Assure good seals, straight cut offs, and seals.
- Load case erector with unbuilt cases.
- Install rolls of tape on case erectors.
- Install rolls of film ranging up to 85 lbs. on each packing machine.
- Mechanically inclined with good hand/eye coordination.
- Regulate workflow throughout various plant areas to ensure that equipment and product requirements are met.
- Exposure to manufacturing environmental conditions including noise, machinery, fumes, dust, odors, and heat.
- Fast paced environment.
- Individual must be self-motivated and eager to learn new things.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by establishing and enforcing organizational standards for safety and quality.
- Assuring compliance with safety, quality, plant policies, and sanitation programs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED equivalent.
- Six months to one-year prior experience in production machine operations, preferably in the food processing industry.

- Use of internal computer system for entering information and accessing product location information.
- Maintain shipping records and complete inventory.

Qualifications

- Supervise and provide leadership/direction to employees.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate mixers, extruders, ovens, proofers, salters, and related baking equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare dough according to formulas, maintain proper dough and product weights, and make adjustments to meet quality standards.
- Monitor product quality, including moisture, color, pH, salt, shape, weight, and other required specifications.
- Complete accurate production, quality, ingredient, weight, moisture, and equipment records.
- Perform required laboratory testing, titrations, and quality checks.
- Assist with equipment changeovers, including dies, plates, heads, and conveyors.
- Monitor and adjust oven settings based on product requirements and weather conditions.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area and follow organic, allergen, sanitation, and food-safety procedures.
- Follow all safety requirements, including proper lockout/tagout procedures and gas-valve checks.
- Communicate effectively with bakers, maintenance, supervisors, and incoming shifts regarding production needs, changes, and issues.
- Track ingredients and dough waste and order ingredients as needed.
- Troubleshoot baking and production issues and assist with corrective actions and process improvements.
- Cross-train as a Mix Baker and provide coverage for breaks, lunches, and absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as required.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of production-line baking or food-processing experience.

Packaging Utility

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and monitor production equipment to meet schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized production and stacking area.
- Monitor product quality, codes, packaging, seals, labels, and metal detection checks.
- Coordinate with machine operators, maintenance, and utility personnel to ensure timely production and changeovers.
- Set up label machines, case labels, tape machines, and other production equipment.
Ensure proper materials and supplies are available for production. - Assist with packing, box-making equipment, and film installation as needed.
- Train new employees and cross-train in utility/stacking functions.
- Assign break and lunch schedules and address production issues promptly.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, lockout/tagout, quality, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as required.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Prior manufacturing experience preferred, preferably in the food industry. Packing experience is a plus.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
